GeoQuest Maps can be played as a guest or with an optional account. This policy explains browser storage, account data, analytics, advertising, and the choices available to visitors.
1. Game and account information
GeoQuest Maps stores guest progress in your browser using local storage. This may include XP, scores, streaks, achievements, daily challenge results and country mastery. If you create an account, account details and synced progress may also be stored in our Supabase backend so your progress and leaderboard results can work across devices. Account information can include your email address, username, user ID, scores, mastery, achievements and challenge results.
2. Contact information
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in that email, such as your email address, message and attachments. We use it to respond to the enquiry, maintain records where reasonably necessary and protect the site from abuse.
3. Google Analytics
GeoQuest Maps uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, such as page visits, general engagement and device/browser information. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies, including identifiers such as _ga, where permitted. Analytics data helps us improve the game and site.
4. Advertising and Google AdSense
GeoQuest Maps may use Google AdSense to display advertising. When AdSense is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to deliver, measure and personalise ads in accordance with their policies and your consent choices where required.
